Ho Chi Minh City will make a breakthrough in investing in transport infrastructure construction

 

On December 4, Ho Chi Minh City officially signed to receive sponsorship of the pedestrian bridge from Nutifood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company. Accordingly, Nutifood commits to invest in the construction of pedestrian bridges to ensure regulations and follow the instructions of competent state agencies, in accordance with the architectural plan approved by the city in September. 10. All investment costs for construction of the pedestrian bridge are paid by Nutifood. Total funding is estimated at more than 1,000 billion VND.

According to Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport Tran Quang Lam, this is the first time in the country that a state agency has received a project of such large scale and value from enterprise. The pedestrian bridge is planned to be located between Ba Son bridge and the tunnel across the Saigon River. The location in District 1 is in the Bach Dang port park area and closest to Nguyen Hue walking street. Also in early December, the Department of Transport presented to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee the results of a pre-feasibility study of the Thu Thiem 4 bridge construction project across the Saigon River, connecting Thu Duc city with District 7. The project has a total of With an investment of more than 6,000 billion VND, if the design is approved, it will become the first bridge in Ho Chi Minh City that can flexibly adjust the clearance for navigation.

 

Another key national project being urgently prepared by Ho Chi Minh City to start construction as soon as possible is the Can Gio bridge construction project (connecting Nha Be district and Can Gio district). The Department of Transport has just submitted the project's pre-feasibility study report to the Ho Chi Minh City Appraisal Council. According to the design, Can Gio bridge is built in the form of a cable-stayed bridge with an architectural idea sketching the image of a mangrove tree, with 6 lanes (4 motorized lanes, 2 rudimentary lanes), speed of 60 km/h. The total length of the bridge is about 7.3 km.
