Thu Thiem New Urban is an exciting and ambitious urban development project located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is often referred to as Thu Thiem Eco Smart City or the International Financial Hub of HCMC. Some key points are highlighted as below:

Location of Thu Thiem New Urban  

Thu Thiem is situated on the eastern land-bank of the Saigon River, just opposite District 1 the city center of Ho Chi Minh City. It covers a vast area of approximately 657 hectares and is easily accessible from CBD and other central districts via bridges and tunnels.

Bason Bridge directly connects Thu Thiem Urban to District 1. One side of the bridge is Metropole projects by Sonkim Land, the other side of the bridge is Grand Marina Saigon project by Masterise Homes.

Binh Thanh District and Thu Thiem Urban have been connected through Thu Thiem Bridge. One side in Thu Thiem is The River Project which is in handover process in 2023 and the other side in Binh Thanh is Sunwah Pearl residential area by Sunwah Group.

Development Plan of Thu Thiem New Urban

The Thu Thiem International Urban Area is a large-scale development project initiated by the government of Vietnam to alleviate the pressure on the city center and create a modern, sustainable urban area. It aims to transform the area into a new financial, commercial, and residential hub for the city. There are 8 areas with different functions in Thu Thiem new urban center, private building density with public spaces and prominent works.

The development follows a comprehensive master plan that includes various zones for residential, commercial, financial, cultural, and recreational purposes. The goal is to create a well-balanced and self-sufficient urban area with green spaces and modern infrastructure.

Thu Thiem has attracted significant attention from both domestic and foreign investors due to its potential for high returns and the government's support for the project. Foreign investors are allowed to invest in certain property types, but they should be aware of the legal restrictions on foreign ownership in Vietnam.

The New Landmark Future 

The Thu Thiem development is expected to host several iconic landmarks, including the Thu Thiem 2 Bridge, the Thu Thiem Tunnel, and the Thu Thiem Financial Center. The project's design incorporates eco-friendly principles and aims to be a model of sustainable urban planning.

Phases of Development

The Thu Thiem International Urban project is being developed in multiple phases, and as of my last update in September 2021, several phases were already completed, while others were still under construction or in the planning stages.

For businesses, it presents opportunities for offices, retail spaces, and commercial establishments. Some projects have been open for sales now like Thu Thiem Zeit River with the best price compared to the surrounding projects, or The River Thu Thiem, already handover, can be rented right away.
